IK-Group's Pipeline Services Department are running dual diameter pig testing. The department are making a prototype multiphase flowline pig that will run through a 14” subsea pipeline and up a 18” riser, for client.
They have built a test rig at site to test the dual diameter pig through the different features, which includes 5D bends, barred T piece and a transition from 14”-18”, and are now experimenting with different disc configurations to make the pig go through the line as smooth as possible. From the testing, they will deliver a dual diameter dewaxing pig and a dual diameter dewatering pig.
