IK-Group's AOGV team conducted an operation to facilitate for a repair of valves for the cleaning system of the cargo tanks on an FPSO (floating production storage & offloading). Several valves for the cleaning system had external leaks and the plant was not able to clean and gas-free the cargo tanks to perform inspection. The AOGV was installed at 13 separate locations and provided a positive isolation against the hydrocarbon contents of the cargo tank. The AOGV provided a safe working barrier for the technicians to perform the repair on the valves and insertion of new gaskets to reinstate the integrity of the flange pair.
13 valves were isolated and repaired in 21 days and the AOGV team were mobilised in just 6 days.
