IK-Subsea (IK) was awarded a contract from a major international oil company in connection with a water injection riser which had developed a number of pin hole leaks.
The solution offered was to install a number of IK’s Compact Sealing Clamps over the breach locations to seal off the leaks.
The hardware, and associated tooling, was produced over a fast track period of 12 weeks at our facilities in Stavanger. The offshore campaign, conducted in early 2023, was supported by IK onsite technicians with the whole installation scope proceeding ahead of the expected schedule.
The riser then successfully passed the pressure test which allowed water injection to be increased into the formation and the subsequent increase in production to follow.
