IK-Subsea delivered a remote operated & ROV guided milling tool that was used for re-machining of the flange sealing surface on a thruster support flange on an FPSO aka Foinaven Aft Thruster Replacement Project (the “Thruster Project”).
The tool was used for refurbishing the thruster flange surface in case of scratches or minor damages during the thruster replacement operation and was operated, controlled, and monitored remotely from the FPSO.
The tool was ROV deployed and pulled in with assistance from the three strand jacks used for the thruster installation.
