In early 2011 the IK-Group, Norway established a new manufacturing facility at Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham.
The purpose was to provide the IK-Group with a UK manufacturing facility to serve its markets across the globe and to increase it’s world-wide penetration of their solution technology and isolation tools.
IK-UK provides standard pigging products and isolation tools, and also tailored solutions using AutoCad Inventor design technology. It also operates a brand new hire fleet of fully certified weld testers, high pressure test plugs and isolation tools.
IK-UK operates from a modern unit with over 3,900m² production space, and is capable of carrying out all its manufacturing operations in-house. Its management team has more than a century’s combined experience in the pigging and pipeline industry.
The workshop is equipped with its own paint spraying booth, welding and fabrication bay (all welding is coded), high definition plasma cutter, water jet cutter, drilling, turning and vertical borer facilities including a new CNC lathe.
The pressure testing bay has the facility to hydrostatically test components up to 1000 bar.g (14500 psi).
The polyurethane and foam casting departments house a high specification low pressure foam dispensing machine capable of pouring foam products in excess of 1000kg, and a cutting edge polyurethane dispensing machine capable of multi additive injection allowing us to tailor our elastomer systems further to meet clients requirements. Alongside these highly specialised machines we also have two computerised air filtration systems that both clean and monitor the atmosphere in the working environment ensuring that we are working to the highest health and safety standards possible.
With research & development centres in Norway and the UK, and quality accreditation to BS EN ISO 9001:2008, IK-UK is well placed to make a significant impact on the oil and gas market worldwide.
