This change marks an important step in a broader strategic reorganisation within IK Group, aimed at providing a clear and distinct separation between our two core business areas – IK Subsea and IK Topside.

As part of this process, IK Topside AS will be established as a separate limited company and is expected to begin operating independently by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, IK Subsea AS will continue its operations under the existing organisation, now carrying its new name.

This development strengthens our overall structure, enabling each company to focus more sharply on its respective market, enhance operational efficiency, and continue delivering high-quality solutions to our clients and partners.

Both companies will issue separate communications to customers and suppliers closer to the completion of the demerger, outlining any practical implications and relevant updates.

IK Subsea and PAG Subsea Technology (Guangzhou) have signed a contract with COOEC Subsea Technology, one of the largest EPCI contractors for offshore oil and gas industry in the Asia Pacific region.

IK Subsea is all set to design and deliver, throughout 2024, a series of DNV Type Approved – High-Pressure Pipeline Diverless Repair Clamps (both Structural and Sealing) for the COOEC’s National Oil & Gas Pipeline Emergency Repair Base in Shenzhen, China. This project is pivotal, ensuring rapid and efficient pipeline repair operations in the South China Sea and East China Sea.

IK Group, a supplier of specialist products and services for pipelines, subsea, and topside, has reported a robust start to 2022 for its Subsea service, which secured multiple contract awards during Q1. In what is shaping up to be a hugely busy year, the business has won new projects in the UK, Norwegian, African, and Brazilian subsea markets.  

Work scopes include repair and maintenance using IK’s Compact Sealing Clamp, Coating Removal Tool, and Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS). In addition, the business’s impact upon the decommissioning sector is growing through the use of its suite of subsea Lifting Tools. All awards include project management, engineering, and procurement to be delivered from IK’s headquarters in Stavanger, Norway.

IK’s Subsea Business Development Director, Roddy Brown, said: “By using tried and tested solutions based on 35 years of brilliant engineering experience, this fast-paced first quarter has seen the team utilise not only the traditional equipment that IK has come to be known for but also to provide complex problem-solving solutions. The year’s successful start has also seen several strategic partnerships formed as IK Group continues to build its capabilities within new markets. This includes a recently signed MOU with Brazilian company 4Pipe Hidropig.
